https://sports.yahoo.com/congressman-mark-walker-to-propose-bill-that-would-allow-ncaa-athletes-to-make-a-profit-215101017.html
“A topic of hot debate for many years, North Carolina congressman Mark Walker is stepping up to fight for NCAA athletes to be able to make profits from third”
This is a monumental shift toward free market participation at all levels of basketball. This will allow more financial equity from the players in their careers and encourage players to embrace the college experience and stay longer than the current one and done cycle.
This will may not really change the immediate but I do believe after the recent paying for recruits scandal mostly african American players from middle and low income homes.
With the ever widening gap between the middle class in america. The detractors may say this will widen the gap between the big and small programs this will not affect that as Creighton and Others were accused of being being willing to pay as much as 60k for a top recruit.
http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/
The cumulative pay for all the coaches of public Universities and colleges on the list is $275,550,213 only 9 school do not report the head coaches salary. Army, Baylor, Brigham Young, Miami (Fla.), Southern California, Syracuse, Temple, Tulane are the only schools do not release those numbers. I find it interesting that out of all of this money being paid out to the coaches none can be allowed to go to the players due to the amateurism rules Set by the NCAA.
The main reason of which were created to prevent players from suing schools if the became seriously injured while playing as was the case in the 1950’s. Eventually this will have to cease as the profits continue to rise. even in the group of 5 five schools as they begin to fill stadiums and bring a culture of football to their schools and get bigger TV deals.
Bronx.
Many People only know it for the Yankee Stadium but there are a few more key destinations to check out if you venture up North.

As an avid listener of the Kevin Avery and Walter K. Bell hosted podcast.” Denzel Washington is the greatest actor of all time period ” I had to dedicate at least on blog post to this subject especially after learning more about movie editing as well.
The black people homework movies of Denzel Washington are known to most but I will list all of them here for the uninitiated out to this world.
1. Malcolm X
2. The Hurricane
3. Glory
4. The Great Debaters
5. A Soldiers Story
The rest that I will be listing although great and some better movies overall not a must see for you Af-Am studies.
Class next semester at u-where ever you attend.
These following films some of his better performances and filled with good dad moments and also lend credence to the fact that he has the mantel as the overw leader in Hits, Wins and HRs. His performances in the following films are poetic moving and representative of why these are stop what your doing and sit down and watch films.
In the particular order:
Inside Man- Spike Lee’s best film made to date and most complete story with necessary additions from chiwetel Ojiafor
He Got Game-Great story of redemption and second chances, as told in difficult. father son relationship.
Mississippi Masala- a favorite of all the ladies as his stand alone romantic comedy.
Philadelphia– although he didn’t win he should have been nominated for this one which I don’t believe he was for this performance in an excellent movie.
Safe House – the beginning of the old man action part of his life. Watch out Liam Neison and Stallone.
Remember the Titans– the third best HS football ever after All the right moves and Friday Night Lights.
I recently spent a week in atlantic city on vacation using my hard-earned comp dollars and free mid-week rooms stay for long overdue moderately priced vacation.
I met several characters while staying in the Showboat Hotel and Casino and the Resorts Hotel and Casino. The most interesting of which were 2 people I met while either eating or playing poker. I’m only going to talk about one, because people have short attention spans so I’ll keep it brief.
The first was a real gambler risking large stacks of chips on marginal hands in poker, but what is interesting about Mike is that he said ” I had just got laid off from my job and am taking a serious go at becoming a poker pro” this guy seemed supremely confident in his moves calling and raising and re-raising with ease until the third day of my trip. I witnessed Mike lose $1,800 in one hand against some real card sharks, as opposed to the wading pool I was playing in. When he got up from table after losing such a big bet all he could say was “I’m done” as if he had lost his last penny. All I could think was that this guy was chasing a dream he couldn’t catch and lost all his money in the process.
Moral of that little story is “don’t chase things you can’t catch; because you’ll end up risking what you can’t afford to lose”
and if your familiar with the movie rounders “you can’t lose what you don’t put in the middle.”
Peace & Prosperity
