I tend to lean in teams with unclear starters ie NY Giants, Bengals or browns who don’t want to Rush a star player back from injury.

  • It is too early to tell with the playoffs about the start of what will happen in the 2024 NFL draft. We still have a Superbowl to play, the offseason to start, and there is also free agency that comes before the draft.

As of right now there are four candidates that might be trading for a Quarterback, that would be in draft order the Giants, Falcons, Vikings, and Raiders. Out of these four teams the Giants and Vikings could end up just running it back with their current QB, they are also the two teams that will not be changing coaches.

While the media and some of their fans might have lost faith in Daniel Jones, the Giants may see trading picks to move up to the Giants or their division rivals the Commanders spot too costing and might be thinking it would be better to stay where they are at and drafting a player of need in another position.

As for the Vikings there was already talk before the season that they might be moving away from Kirk Cousins. I don’t see either Nick Mullens or Joshua Dobbs as the answer to that position. I also do not see the Bears trading picks or Fields to their division rival.

The Raiders are too far out to move all the way to the first pick from the thirteenth, So that leaves it to one other team the Atlanta Falcons, but just like others have been saying the curve ball name Russell Wilson could enter the chat so to speak. That would add a fifth team to the table because there is no way they can look at their fans and say we thought Jarrett Stidham was better.

The problem is I don’t see Denver trading up for the number on pick or trading for Justin Fields, but I still do see them trading with the Bears. While Denver is already in the Goldilocks zone to draft a top four QB, they might need to seal the deal and make sure both the Raiders and Vikings don’t beat them to that future franchise quarterback. I can’t summarize what picks would be used but I can see Denver moving up to the ninth overall pick to get their QB. Raiders hold out on getting their Quarterback. The Vikings bring in the free agent Jimmy Garoppolo and still draft a QB. Russ will cook for the Falcons and the Giants will draft the 3rd best QB and have him sit behind Jones.

So with all the musical chairs movements there is still that number one pick and Justin Fields. Eberflus never got to draft his quarterback and they would have to face the issue about Fields’ contract soon. The Bears are not only the poorest team in the NFL they are also the cheapest. I believe this will be a bad move, but this script has been used before, The Bears will trade Fields. I’m going with the Steelers. Yes, they are in the playoffs but it’s still Mason Rudolph and Fields is an upgrade that can add another dimension to that team’s offense, and they would not have to trade their first-round pick for him. I have the Bears take Drake Maye and the Commander will run to the podium and take Caleb Williams. Jayden Daniels to the Broncos, and the last quarterback to be taken in the first round will be Michael Penix Jr. to the Vikings.

Now comes the reason why I decided to even start writing this in the first place. Belicheat might be gone from the Patriots, and they might change a little under Mayo, but I don’t see this organization picking a quarterback in the first round. I see them pulling something even scarier than that, well scary to any fan of teams in the AFC East. I see them getting a QB in later rounds, but their two biggest moves will be signing Kirk Cousins and drafting Marvin Harrison Jr.

This makes sense to me for this franchise that will still operate outside the norm, or the majority of the NFL even post Belicheat and they have the cap room to fill in other positions. They can get a late round QB and have him sit and learn under an established vet.
