PAC-12 Expansion Idea’s

The PAC-12 is reported by CBS sports moving ahead with negotiating it’s tv deal immediately. The Pac-12 schools need academic fit and more interested viewers. These four schools Provide that and more in terms of location and other competitive advantage’s by adding them to make the conf more attractive to TV partners and also fans nationally along with maintaining access for your Conf champ to the College Football Playoff.

I have the 4 Schools they need to add to fend off the Big-12 and keep their conference alive. All these moves make sense If having a coast to coast conference also make sense. Because why, because of money that’s why.

1. Boise State. I know academically this school doesn’t fit but they draw big crowds and would give you the entire state of Idaho which has a small state popluation1.8 mill est., but a huge fan base regionally and a Great Football brand. Also a school with alot of interest from their fans as they are states pro team and they already play them on a regular basis anyway.

2. Memphis. What’s going on here you say. They are the best team left in the American/old Big East football except they win and spend on sports also In the in central time zone giving them a way to have 1pm kickoffs for their new tv partners that they desire for east coast audiences. Also Their MBB team and other teams matter another major metro market that loves CFB. Population in the metro area is 1.8 million and a top 50 media market. On the Mississippi river is close enough to the west coast.

3. SMU. A school that wants to be great and hires good coaches. Will they be competitive Most likely not for a while, a good school academically that will add Texas back in A huge market that is Dallas, TX pop. 7.75 million. Top 25 media market. Every league has bottom dweller see Rutgers and Syracuse football, but they don’t add value like an SMU would. I get they may not have the fan base of Other bigger schools in Texas are but A school in Dallas metro is worth it. Also ability to have 12pm and 1 east kick-off games. With a recruiting boost to all schools currently in the PAC-12.

4. San Diego State. Because they go low we go lower. The Chargers are gone and San Diego St can fill the space in So Cal of them losing a team to the LA area. The best CFB markets are the area’s where the college team is the pro team doesn’t exist (i.e. Austin, Baton Rouge, Tallahassee, Tuscaloosa, Arkansas) You wont steal USC fans, BUT SD state will Still give you access to So Cal recruits and A great Area for your Olympic sports aside from Colorado. Metro pop. 3.2 million

Will the Pac-12 most definitely not listen to my ideas for a myriad of reasons, but they make sense athletically and possibly academically while giving them access to potential students from as far east as Tennessee to as far south as Texas. Which should matter as well.

Will they do it, who knows, but its not the worst idea.PAC-14 Sounds better anyways.
